What do you do?
I’m a conceptual artist. My photo-based works are constructed performances displayed as filmic stills. I use the camera as a paintbrush to play between painting and documentation. Placing myself into narratives, allows me to explore human psychology, physiologically and how one interacts with issues outside of oneself combined with memory.
How would you describe your life?
My life is about constantly seeking inspiration, which I believe truly is around all of us. But I like to take it in and play with it rather than fix it. Even though I do photography, I’m not so much concerned about capturing a memory or keeping time, but more about the performance of time and how it moves and moves us.
What do you expect to find in Istanbul?
I hope to be inspired by the city’s history its strong future.
What are you going to do at Let’stanbul?
During Let’stanbul, my photo-based works are going to be projected and I will give a presentation about them. I may also do a live performance in which I document myself.
